Assynt and Inverpolly is a stunning part of the west coast of Scotland. The one big advantage of this region is that it is not overrun by visitors and photographers alike, which allows a unique opportunity to really work on your photography. Assynt also boasts three main mountains wonderfully isolated in the landscape, allowing you to capture wide open vistas with all three peaks of Suilven, Cùl Mòr and the most famous in the area, Stac Pollaidh, in one image.
The west coast of Scotland is renowned for its lochs, stunning coast, and its iconic and gorgeous munros.
Assynt offers some incredible mountainous landscapes, including the distinctive peaks of Stac Pollaidh, Suilven and Cùl Mòr. These mountains provide fantastic opportunities for landscape photography, especially during sunrise and sunset when the light casts breathtaking hues on the rugged terrain.
Assynt’s coastline is dotted with sea stacks, cliffs, and rocky shores. These features are perfect for shooting impressive seascapes and capturing the raw beauty of Scotland’s west coast scenery.
There are several stunning lochs to photograph, the most impressive in the area being Loch Assynt itself.
However, there are many additional photogenic lochs to capture on camera such as Loch Lurgainn, Cam Loch and Loch Druim Suardalain, the latter offering unrivalled views of Suilven, which is often reflected in the calm waters at sunrise and sunset.
Assynt and Inverpolly is a truly wild and incredible place to photograph and much less crowded than its more popular neighbour, Glencoe.
If you would like to experience the wild and remote beauty of this wonderful location for yourself, come and join us. You will not be disappointed.
