Slovenia is an awe-inspiring country that offers huge diversity in the scenery on offer and the subjects that we aim to photograph. It is where mountains tower at almost 9,500ft over some of the most impressive and stunning scenery in Europe. The jagged peaks, alpine forests, wooden huts and the gorgeous lakes that offer some amazing reflections of the mountains that dominate the region. Add to that the magic of winter and Slovenia covered in snow and you have a superb opportunity to experience a fantastic opportunity to capture some stunning winter landscape photography.
This five night winter photography workshop will provide you with wonderful opportunities to capture and create you own images with guidance and tuition from if required. Our accommodation consists of a wonderfully located four star guesthouse in Lesce, the neighbouring town to Bled. It is perfectly positioned to reduce the amount of time spent driving to many of the most popular locations, leaving more time for your photography.
During your time with us, we will work closely to ensure that you receive whatever assistance you need to have the experience of a lifetime. Both our workshop leaders will offer all the advice needed regarding the technical elements of how to use your camera through to how to compose dynamic and exciting images.
Here is a detailed itinerary outlining our schedule. While the itinerary looks fixed, it is really only an indication of the locations we will be visiting and the decision to alter our plans depending on the weather and light will be taken if needed.
Day 1 – Friday 31st January 2025
Ljubljana Airport – Lesce
We will collect the workshop participants at 1pm from Ljubljana airport in Slovenia on Monday 31st January 2025. Once everybody is collected, we shall head to our guesthouse in Lesce, before capturing sunset at the nearby iconic Lake Bled. The evening will be spent getting to know each other over good food in a local restaurant.
Day 2 to Day 5 – Saturday 1st – Tuesday 4th February 2025
There is no fixed itinerary on this workshop as we aim to match up the best photography locations with the weather predicted.
We aim to be out on location shooting sunrises every morning, ensuring that we are in position to capture the best subjects pre-dawn. Breakfast will either be taken in the guesthouse after sunrise or where required, on the road in the form of a packed breakfast courtesy of the guesthouse. We will be out shooting sunsets before heading back to the guesthouse to relax before eating out in local restaurants.
Day 6 – Wednesday 5th February 2025
Lesce – Ljubljana Airport
Check out of the guest house is 8am to allow us to travel just 30 minutes down the road to Ljubljana Airport followed by the flight home to reflect on what will be an amazing photography tour. Having spent three months in Slovenia October 2020 – December 2020, take it from us when we say, that Slovenia will have you leave a piece of your heart somewhere in the country and experiences like that takes some beating. We hope you can join us.
We will collect all the workshop participants from Ljubljana Airport at 1pm on Friday 31st January 2025.

Chris Frost
As a relative latecomer to the world of photography, my eyes were initially opened to the captivating world of photography whilst honeymooning in Japan, before later stumbling into landscape photography in 2012 – a genre I instantly fell in love with appreciating not only its beauty, drama, and variety but the many challenges it presents. My initial passion for capturing wild and rugged seascapes was driven from a lifetime living just a stone’s throw from Dorset’s stunning Jurassic coastline but over recent years, this yearning for raging storm seas has been contrasted and balanced by the quiet calling of Dorset’s hidden woodlands. Wild mornings dodging raging seas now compete with the lure of leisurely ambles through mist shrouded woods, dodging nothing but brambles and the occasional startled deer.
I specialise in atmospheric images of the South West’s ever-changing coastline and intimate treescape scenes of mother nature at her finest, combining floral displays, spectacular conditions and grand woodlands, My unique imagery was recognised in 2020, winning the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year award and placing runner-up in the Wildflowers category of the International Garden Photographer of the Year.
Having arrived too late for the film era, I have always shot digitally and appreciate the flexibility and opportunities it presents. With the trusty Nikon in hand, there is equal enjoyment gained from, and importance placed on all stages of the photography journey from scouting, visualization, and image capture through to post-processing, an element I believe is often key in realising my vision.

You will each have your own double en-suite room. Breakfast is included. There is no single occupancy supplement charged.
